Grand Isle Port Commission is an autonomous government entity operated under the direction of five Commissioners appointed by the Governor and recommended by the Mayor of Grand Isle. Its purpose is to establish, create, enhance, and maintain port related activity within its jurisdiction. The Commission is located at 2757 Hwy 1, Grand Isle, La. 70358.
(1) 2-year college degree from accredited college or university or equivalent is required.
(2) One to two years of port development/operations experience is highly desirable.
(3) Additional relevant experience of the successful candidate will include 10 to 15 years’ experience in program management, project administration and supervision in the oil & gas, marine or chemical industries as well as experience in the development, administration and implementation of budgets, marketing, real estate-development, legislative processes, government activities, grant writing, permitting and public speaking/presentations.
(4) Moderate level of computer literacy in Microsoft applications that include but are not limited to Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
